Weekend Program
The 4 PADI certification dives focus on checking off many of the skills learned previously during pool training as well an emphasis on cold water beach diving. Entries and exits as well as dive planning are also practiced.
Schedule:
Saturday 7:00am – 1:00pmish
Sunday 7:00am – 1:00pmish
The dive site is just a 90 minute drive from San Mateo. Some divers make the drive down both days while others may choose to stay over for a night or two at a hotel. Know your hotel cancellation policies. Classes are cancelled due to rough weather. There is plenty to do for non-divers as well.
What’s Needed:
Divers need to have their own transportation to carry Instructional Gear from the store and their Personal Gear.
We provide a gear bag and will help you carry it out to your car but we can’t get it to Monterey for you.
Divers come to the store a few days before their ocean weekend to size and pick up their Instructional Gear, sign more liability and to get the “secret” directions.
Instructor’s Request:
Bring a good pair of diving fins. They need to be able to push you and the extra weight your swimming with.
Be Aware!
Certifying in Monterey is more difficult than in warmer waters – It is pass or fail. Is Monterey for Me?
