Certification requires academics, pool work and ocean dives. This program satisfies the academic component of certification. You can also gift any of these components including personal gear:
“Get a good fitting mask and real diving fins. Buy from the store you are taking lessons with so that you can exchange leaking masks or poorly fitting fins. Work out the bugs with your instructor before attempting the certification ocean dives.”
eLearning allows students to complete the academics at home. Gift the PADI eLearning academics!
Our programs usually begin with instruction on equipment assembly. Pool training in-water usually follows. Facilities are complete with heated pools.
A PADI swim evaluation completed usually at the first pool session. Graduates earn Referral paperwork used to finish certification abroad or with us at Monterey.
Orientation Required: Students must visit the store for orientation 1-2 weeks prior to the first pool session. No appointment necessary and it only takes 20 minutes. Some important things happen at orientation. A liability and medical (you may need to see a doctor before participating in the first pool session) must be completed in person as well as gear fitting and any personal gear needed is shopped for. This cannot happen the day of your program.
Personal Gear Needed: Students need their own mask, snorkel fins and boots for this program. Gloves are needed for cold water Monterey divers. All other needed equipment is included. There are no hidden charges. We will not ask for additional rental fees, or for yours to purchase a compass at the first meeting. Buy from the store you are taking lessons with.
All personal gear can be exchanged during pool programs to ensure proper fit before participating in ocean dives.
Monterey The Weekend ocean certification dives are sold separately and can be selected anytime. Diver students will have 12 months from the last pool session to complete certification.
